Re: Who's gonna pay to watch championship football in that stadium next season?
More like 30,000-35,000 over there with awful atmosphere, and also depends on how we do. If we're not challenging, and my guess is we won't be for a few years at least, it'll drop drastically. It'll be grim, it'll be dross, and the only satisfaction i'll get is seeing the owners squirm in their seats knowing how they've shafted the whole club

Does anyone else hope that the club folds?

I do. The sooner, the better.

Let's face it, if we go down there will still be big gates over there. Main reason is haven't they sold about 50000 season tickets? Usually ST holders just renew out of habit. I know some won't renew and some won't go to a lot games, but at a guess I reckon attendances would be around the 40k mark.

Only one solution if we go down, ground share.

With Orient possibly.

I'll be there. Decent football, decent drink. Pay for a cheap seat, sit in an expensive one. No problem with that.

Northern, I think i'm going to cry mate and you really don't want to see a grown man the size of a brick shithouse cry.
it'd be just too embarrassing to be honest.

I wouldn't worry about it, Jake son. Even if we stay up, they'll be begging you to take two season tickets come the end of July.

Re: Who's gonna pay to watch championship football in that stadium next season?
it's going to be heartbreaking for us to be relegated yet again, but the one good thing about it is that I mught be able to get a couple of season tickets for the grandson and me ( i'm on the st list, probably number 25000 or so). wont have a cat in hells chance otherwise due to all the glory boy tourists.
at age 66, I might not have another chance ever again.
how I long for the old days of queuing up outside the north bank to get in, at least then I had a chance of getting in every home game.

Re: Who's gonna pay to watch championship football in that stadium next season?
I think if we go down we will struggle.

The squad will need completely gutting..again.
Teams and away fans will love coming to the stadium and will raise their game. Our lot will feel entitled to win every week, the pressure on a newly built squad with a new manager will be overwhelming.

Expect a long stay
Next level

Relegation although not what we want, if no other choice could be a price worth paying in the long term if it means the 2bobs sell up imho. We will always struggle with the 2bobs due to their penny pinching and incompetence.

We need a few new recruits in Jan to lift the spirits, but even if the 2bobs spent something out of desperation who would want to board our sinking ship?

Re: Who's gonna pay to watch championship football in that stadium next season?
The stadium is only ours for up to 23 days.

Which is fine for 19 home league games and a few cups. It’s why we’ll rarely have Home friendlies as the board will have to pay extra to use it more.

So going down could cost us MORE.
